Questions

Questions we get before the first session.

Nine questions, grouped as they usually arrive: before you start, on the floor, and in admin. The answers below are the same sentences used in the structured data on this page.

Do I need to be fit before the assessment?

No. The assessment is built to meet the level you arrive with. Tests are stopped if a movement is not a good idea that day, and a skipped test is written as skipped rather than filled with a guess. The plan that follows is scaled to the sheet: session length, weekly frequency, and the intensity band all come from what was actually measured. People who have not trained for years, and people who already train, sit the same ninety minutes. Fitness is not a door policy.

Can I train here if I already have a coach elsewhere?

Yes, if the other coach agrees that this floor will hold a defined block rather than a second competing plan. Say so at intake. We will write a track that does not fight the other work — often Conditioning beside a strength coach, or Base Strength beside a sport session. We will not silently overwrite another programme, and we will not share your sheet with a third party unless you ask us to send the PDF. If the two plans cannot sit together, we will say so before you buy a block.

Do you work with people returning from injury?

We train people who are returning, when a doctor has said that training is allowed. We do not diagnose, treat, or promise a timeline for pain to leave. Written clearance is asked for when the history requires it. The usual track is Rebuild: lower volume, more time on set-up, and a finish that is allowed to be quiet. If a movement is a poor idea on the day, it is stopped. That is a training decision. Medical questions stay with the clinician who already knows the case.

What happens if I miss two weeks?

The block is not silently rewritten. We read the journal, reduce load for the return week, and keep the retest date if enough sessions remain to make a review meaningful. If too few sessions remain, the block is closed and a new assessment hour is booked. A planned gap of more than fourteen days should have been a written pause. An unplanned gap is recorded as a gap. Pride is a poor return plan; the first week back sits at the low end of the band.

Is the group always eight people?

Eight is the maximum, not the target. Early slots and Sunday hours are often smaller. The cap exists because the room has six lifting stations, four erg seats, and one sled lane. A ninth person would stand. Walk-in training is not offered, so a quiet slot stays quiet rather than being filled from the street. If you prefer a smaller room, say so when you book; we can place you on hours that usually run below the cap, without promising an empty floor.

What do I wear and bring?

Wear clothes you can squat, hinge, and row in, and shoes that stay on the rubber floor. Bring a water bottle and any written medical clearance you already have. Towels and chalk are on the floor. You do not need a notebook; the session journal is kept here and you already have the printed plan from the assessment. Leave outdoor shoes at the entrance. There is no dresser-room culture and no kit shop. If you need a band or a light kettlebell, it is already in the mobility corner.

Do you give nutrition plans?

No. Thefitnessspace does not sell meal plans and does not treat diet as a medical service. A coach may make a general remark about eating enough protein to support the block, or about not arriving fasted for a 06:15 slot. That is the end of the advice. Questions about food as treatment, allergies, or bodyweight as a clinical target belong with a doctor or a qualified dietitian. We will not write a shopping list or a calorie target on the metrics sheet.

How do you store my measurements?

You keep a printed sheet and a PDF sent to the email used on the booking. The studio keeps a working copy so the coach who holds the block can read the same numbers. Those records stay for the active block and for twelve months after the last session, then they are deleted, unless a longer hold is required by law. The contact form is different: those details are not stored on the server and are used only to reply. The Privacy notice states the same rules in full.

Can I pause a block?

Yes, when a doctor asks for time off, or when you will be out of Singapore for more than fourteen days. The pause is written, with a return week, and the retest moves with the remaining sessions. Ordinary busy weeks are not pauses. They are handled by holding load inside the same dates. A pause is not a refund. Fees for a started block stay with the block. The terms page repeats this in the language used for booking and cancellation.
